One day. Many cultures. One Geelong. Join us for a free celebration of music, food, art and light — where every community is welcome, every tradition is honoured, and every family belongs.
The Geelong Multicultural Festival of Lights 2026 is your community's day to shine. Held at Beckley Park Reserve in Corio, this free, family-friendly event is designed for everyone — whether you've called Geelong home for generations or arrived from across the world. Light is the one thing every culture shares: it means hope, welcome and a new beginning. That's exactly what this festival is about.
Brought to life by Prakash – The Light of Hope Inc. in partnership with the Victorian Cultural Association Inc., the festival is a genuine community effort — supported by local partners, community organisations and passionate people who care about Geelong. It's a safe, joyful space where families feel at home, cultures are celebrated and new friendships are made.
From live multicultural stage performances and world cuisine to hands-on cultural art and a stunning evening light display — this is Geelong's biggest multicultural community celebration. Mark your calendar: Saturday, 7 November 2026, 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Free entry. All welcome.
Whether you're from Geelong, from India, from the Philippines, from Ethiopia or from anywhere in between — this is your festival. Here's a taste of what's on offer.
Watch Geelong's multicultural communities come alive on an open-air stage. Indian classical dance, Nepali folk music, African drumming, Southeast Asian performances and more — your culture has a place here.
Smell the spices, taste the stories. A vibrant food village brings the world's cuisines to Beckley Park — from South Asian curries and African dishes to Southeast Asian street food. Something for every palate.
Bring the whole family. Carnival rides, games, creative workshops and children's activities in a safe, dedicated family zone — because every child deserves a day they'll never forget.
Geelong has never seen anything quite like this. Six extraordinary experiences, one glorious day. Here's everything waiting for you — and your family, your friends, your community — on Saturday 7 November 2026.
Your community, your culture, your spotlight. Live dance, music and cultural showcases from Indian, Nepali, African, Southeast Asian and Australian groups — sharing their heritage with a proud and joyful Geelong crowd.
Eat your way around the world without leaving Corio. South Asian curries, African dishes, Southeast Asian street food and much more — cooked with pride by community food stalls serving authentic, mouth-watering flavours.
Let the kids loose. Carnival rides, games, creative workshops and entertainment run all afternoon in a dedicated, safe family zone. Come at 2 PM, stay until the lights come on. The whole day is built for families.
Touch, create, explore. Hands-on art activities and cultural displays let you experience the traditions and creativity of Geelong's diverse communities up close — perfect for curious kids and curious adults alike.
Shop local, support bold. Browse unique stalls run by women entrepreneurs from Geelong and Victoria — cultural fashion, food, crafts and more. Every purchase supports a local woman building something meaningful.
As the sun sets over Beckley Park, the sky comes alive. The evening light experience is the heart of this festival — a breathtaking moment where every culture's light becomes one. Bring your family. You won't forget it.
